Fun Facts about our Furry Friends!

Dogs have been “man’s best friends” for a long period of time but, there is more to our fur babies than we know. Our babies are a lot smarter than you think! 🙂

Here are some fun facts so you can learn more about your fur baby:

1. The part of a dog’s brain that detects different smells is 40 times larger than a human. Your pup can pick up on so many more smells than we can. This is a perfect example of why dogs are used to sniff out drugs, people and even money at times.

2. Our pooches have such a strong sense of smell that they can even detect out medical conditions in some people. They can be trained to sniff out these conditions and give answers to those who need them on diagnosis.

3. Dogs can sniff at the same time as they breathe. Their noses are made so that smells stay in their noses while the air they breathe moves in and out of their lungs at the same time.

4. Dogs have 18 muscles controlling their ears. You will notice pups move their ears around quite often. They have around 18 muscles responsible for moving their ears. These muscles help them to change direction of their ears to hear noises and telling us how they are feeling too. A pup’s body language is shown a lot through their ears.

The world would not be the same without our 4-legged lovable pups running around. 🙂
